Place to Play Preschool

We believe in the power of play. We have been moving towards being a play based preschool for a few years and want to help other preschools who are also striving to embrace play.

We are also a active preschool located in Farmington Utah. To find out more information and to register, click here.

Lesson Plans

Lesson plans are usually the most important of a teacher’s job. However, in a play based program, lesson plans either take a back seat, or are not needed at all. Click Learn more to see how we handle lesson plans at Place to Play Preschool

Units/Themes

Units are another staple of preschool. In our play based preschool we still have units, but they are very flexible and often the students decide on a different unit then I had planned for that week. Click below to see what units we do.

Other Important Stuff

Field trips, programs, graduation. All fun things to do in preschool. Learn how we do these in our play based preschool. Click below to learn about all the other stuff we do, including circle time and how we provide a literacy rich environment.

Importance of Play

“We don’t stop playing because we grow old; we grow old because we stop playing.”
George Bernard Shaw
“Children need the freedom and time to play. Play is not a luxury. Play is a necessity.”
Kay Redfield Jamison
“Children learn as they play. More importantly, in play, children learn how to learn.”
O. Fred Donaldson
“When we treat children’s play as seriously as it deserves, we are helping them feel the joy that’s to be found in the creative spirit. It’s the things we play with and the people who help us play that make a great difference in our lives.”
Fred Rogers

“Play is often talked about as if it were a relief from serious learning. But for children play is serious learning. Play is really the work of childhood.”
― Fred Rogers
